Our engineering embraces everything from the engine to the propellers, including rudders, manoeuvring equipment, stabilisers, and valves, as well as hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic systems. We collaborate in engineering matters with the best international, domestic, and local firms.
We perform removal and inspection of propellers; shaft alignment and replacement of seals, including the measurement of wear and tear affecting the tailshaft; repowering, servicing, and reconditioning of engines and generators. We also carry out the standard and specific servicing on the shaft lines and offer assistance for the inspections conducted by the Classification Society. We do all this at our multipurpose workshop, which covers a surface area of over 3,000 m2.
Navantia has its own engine manufacturing plant in Cartagena, operating under MTU, CAT and MAN licences, while offering the maintenance that customers require.
Being aware that our customers are extremely demanding, attention to detail is a vital aspect of Navantia’s yacht business: We apply dry- or wet-blasting to clean the piping, hulls, and tanks, and carry out any type of maintenances even in confined and reduced spaces.
We work with the major paint companies in the yacht market and provide solutions for any customers´ requirement: from the steel to the top coat, including primer, putty and finish of all areas. The results of our work feature the highest quality levels and are fully guaranteed.
Navantia has many years of experience and sets the highest standards for yachts under construction or naval maintenance. We collaborate closely with many specialist firms and exceed the market standards in designing and carrying out lengthening or modifications to yachts: bathing platforms, new parts, renovation of existing systems, structural changes, fittings, welding, etc.
We offer all kinds of carpentry work, including the construction of teak decks. We modify interiors, and this includes the construction of ceiling and wall panelling, false teak facilities for garages and leisure zones, teak decks, caulking, wooden hut construction, repairing timber masts / booms, and we also reconstruct wooden components, doors, hatches, deck accessories, etc.
We also look after the interior, so we provide the design, construction, and refurbishment of all the yacht’s interior zones, collaborating with the best designers.
We provide a professional customer care service that caters for any need a yacht crew might have while the vessel is at Navantia. We cover such needs as arranging for accommodation, vehicle rental, transfers, medical appointments, PCR tests, plus providing any information of interest about the city.
Yet our customer care goes further still with our Yachtclub, where our customers can find the best prices for leisure and social activities such as sports, wine tasting, restaurants, concerts, etc., while their yachts are being repaired in Cartagena.
Our Procurement Department has its own portfolio of suppliers, as a result of many years of experience. We have a worldwide network of suppliers with offices in many countries, which enables us to arrange for the purchase of any supplies, materials, or items of equipment for our customers’ yachts.
Our logistics team makes sure that deliveries to and orders from the yachts are dealt with as swiftly and effectively as possible. We likewise arrange for and provide support for dealing with Customs formalities and with the process of active perfectioning, to enable the yacht to be accepted in the Inward Processing Procedure (IPP) system.
Safety, security, and prevention are of the utmost importance to Navantia. The shipyard has a round-the-clock security and access service (24 hours / 365 days), an infrared and CCTV system all the way around the perimeter, as well as its own fire-fighting team and equipment and its own medical and emergency service, all of which are active 24 hours a day.
We have the current NATO Security Procedure and Port Security (ISPS) certificates available. We are one of the safest, securest, and most private shipyards in the world.
